This area is located in the autonomous region of Catalonia in Spain and comprises a calcareous mountain massif.
In the area there are the following habitats: mountains, streams, valleys, cliffs, grasslands, farms with dryland orchards, scrubs, and forests. The forests are dominated by the corsican pine, scots pine, holm oak, aleppo pine, and beech.

Ornithological importance

In this area there is a record of 124 species. Highlight to the occurrence of the Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), Bonelli's Eagle (Aquila fasciatus), Eurasian Crag-martin (Hirundo rupestris), Short-toed Snake-eagle (Circaetus gallicus), Eurasian Eagle-owl (Bubo bubo), Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopterus), Black Wheatear (Oenanthe leucura), Griffon Vulture (Gyps fulvus), Red-billed Chough (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax), Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus), Alpine Citril Finch (Carduelis citrinella), and Blue Rock-thrush (Monticola solitarius).
